Christmas!

The Dasen Grandkids (and 2 Greats too)
Christmas was fun this year. We started by opening our gifts upstairs (the mommy and daddy presents), then we made our way downstairs to open gifts from Grandpa and Papa. From there we traveled to Great-Grandma and Papa Dasen's house, then to Shawn's Aunt's house and finally back home where we sang Christmas carols. It was quite a day and both girls were exhausted by the end of it. Here are a few pictures from that day...

Our First Post

So, I have a couple of friends who blog and I love reading them so much I decided it was a good idea for me to start one as well. I usually send out an e-mail once-in-a-while to keep the extended family updated on our little ones, but this just seemed better and a little easier.
Lets start with Abigail...she is so funny. She's picking up new words like crazy and amazes me everyday. Two days ago she went on a walk to the mailbox with John and Sally (Shawn's parents) and during the walk she continued to try to run into the street. Sally proceeded to explain to her that she shouldn't do that because a car could come and squish her like a bug. But Abby then proceeded to explain to her that she was not a bug.
We recently put a new toddler bed in Abby's room in hopes she will soon be sleeping in there and we can move Christina out of our room and into the crib. So far we have not had success, however, Abby LOVES the bed and frequently lays down in it. Yesterday, Abby eagerly brought myself, Shawn and Christina (she made a big deal about "sissy" coming) into her room and wanted us to sit on her bed. After much poking and prodding after why she wanted us in there she told us, "it's a secret". Children, what innocence they have.

Christina is learning her own new words as well. She's been a-goo-ing often the last couple of weeks and added 'ee's to her vocabulary, but she stunned Shawn and I last night as we were trying to get her to sleep. She began to say Dada! Well, is was more like dadadadadada..... and she did it again this morning. Perhaps our next child will be a boy...or so the old wives tale goes. I am axiously awaiting to take Christina to the doctor next month (she will be 6 months) because I'm hoping her doctor will want to do x-rays soon. Her toes have been growing which I think is a good sign but I'm also anxious to see what they think of her walking. I am confident she will learn but there is always that little voice in the back of my mind saying 'what if'.

Thank you for reading and I hope you visit often as I hope to write often. Love to you all!
